"Ms Doris was an Angel here on Earth. She was my financial benefactor for the Educational Forum I had at the Inn @ Reading back in 2006. She had her personal assistant drive her to meet us there, and took us to dinner. Doris continued corresponding with my son John, who was born with Chromosome 22q 11.2 Deletion Syndrome. God Bless You My Dear Friend! You were as beautiful inside as you were outside, and I will forever be so proud to say I had the good fortune to meet such a sincerely good person."

"My sincere Condolences to the Buffet family. I was a recipient of the Sunshine Lady Foundation. I was so grateful and appreciated the help and the kind words of encouragement that I received. May God and fond memories continue to provide comfort and peace today, tomorrow, and always."

"I am forever grateful to have shared so many good conversations with Doris. Her desire to impact those with the greatest need was inspiring.
Doris helped our community in so many ways – both big and small.
She gave to create programs for high school students to learn the art of philanthropy. She gave to support women who faced abuse from their partners. She gave to help those with mental illness have a place to stay. She gave to create homes for the homeless. She gave to support education-whether in prison or in high school. The list is endless. She did all of this without expecting anything in return.
I am thankful to have been a witness to her generosity and to have known the women of the Sunshine Lady Foundation who marched alongside her and made her vision a reality.

"My thoughts and prayers are with the Buffett family and the wonderful ladies of the Sunshine Lady Foundation. I am blessed to have had the opportunity to personally get to know Doris and enjoyed our conversations on many topics including our shared passion for helping individuals on the Autism Spectrum. Doris, thru Mitty Beal and the Sunshine Lady Foundation, generously provided funding to create Mary Sunshine House, a program locating in Central, SC, named personally by Doris after her childhood nickname. Mary Sunshine House, when operational, will serve 45 adults on the Autism Spectrum by providing a wrap-around supervised program including apartments, educational day programs, vocational services, community activities and independent living services. Her kindness and spirit will live on thru Mary Sunshine House along with her compassion to give to others and help improve the lives of those in need. Doris will always be remembered for the grand lady she was as she begins her next journey. Thank you, Doris, and God Bless."

"I'll always be Thankful for Doris. I had seen her on Charlie Rose and realized how our early lives had been so much alike. It brought me to tears. I wrote a letter to her and she was kind enough to reply within a couple weeks. She said there were others like us. She referred to me as one of her Sorority. I never made it to the Fall luncheon, but I finally realized I wasn't alone. Thank you Doris Buffet. May you Rest in Peace "
