You know going to hockey games in the old arena in Winnipeg it was such a pleasure and so exciting to watch Dale play the game. What a hard working player he was and the goals he scored. Always our favourite player. Rest in peace Dale and now u can watch your son play the game. You are an Angel up above."

"I had the opportunity to meet Dale at a hockey school in St. Andrews NB and after a game at Maple Leaf Gardens. I have a letter he wrote me that is truly one of my prized possessions. Dale, thank you for passing on your passion for hockey to so many young hockey players! I will miss that charming smile! My condolences to the entire Hawerchuk family. We truly lost an amazing individual way too soon!"
