"Just became aware of her passing while doing a google search on her as she crosses my mind from time to time. I didn't know her personally but that did not stop her from helping my son travel to Paris and England when he was 12 years old - he's 27 now. Her kind gesture and generosity opened doors of opportunities he may have not otherwise experienced.
To her family, I'm sure you already know what an awesome woman she was. Please accept our heartfelt condolences. We can't know for a certainly where our loved ones go when they leave us but we hope it's to a better place. May this thought bring you some comfort. My son and I are forever grateful for the part she played in facilitating his travels abroad and his exposure to other cultures. May she rest in peace.
Respectfully
Yaminah & Khalid "

"So sad to hear this news. A loss to her family, friends, & community. Someone that was so generous to her community."

"I came to know of Mrs Cox Chambers through my work. I did not know her personally, though I became very familiar with her history, her family and her philanthropy. What an example of a life well lived. A shining example of helping those that needed it."

"I grew up on Clarendon Plantation, daughter of the chef Daniel Alvarado. Daddy always spoke highly of the family he worked for so many years. He recently told me of the passing of Mrs. Chambers and I felt a little of my childhood slip away. My condolences to the family."
