11 years we have not had Ms Carter here on earth. We adored this lady & were super fans from the first scene when we saw her talents as an actress. Ms. Carter immediately became a favorite of ours. She was a gifted actress, a most decent human being with a professional touch like no other person we ever have known. Ms. Carter was a favorite in our household. She was an incredible actress & as we learned thru time she
also was an amazing human being. She is truly missed.

I watched my first episode of designing women last night, August 27, 2019. I was so taken by Dixie's natural beauty I looked up her career as I was sure she must have been a star in younger years. I get the sense that she was a genuine great person in private and public life. Thank you Dixie, for......allowing me to spend time with my ex-wife/"future wife.....again",(hopefully), by just living your life on the path you were destined to follow. We affect many people by our being without ever knowing the magnitude. Now you know ma'am. Thank you.

Ms. Carter was simply INCREDIBLE. I met her Several years ago & I'll never forget our conversation. Dixie Carter was a beautiful soul & her ability to make one feel as though she's been your friend forever. Plz accept our heartfelt SYMPATHY. It is so painful losing a MOM, WIFE, FRIEND & COLLEAGUE. Her passing was several years ago, but for her fans continue to grief .

My most memeorable memories of Dixie Carter are as Julia Sugarbaker in Designing Women. I will always remember the way she brought this character alive with her fiery yet eloquent way she could put anyone in their place in two seconds flat. Julia Sugarbaker had the business sense of Martha Stewart, the heart of Mother Teresa, the sillyiness of Charles Chaplin and the unapologetic outspoken speech of Nancy Grace. Dixie may have started with Julia Sugarbaker the network idea but she turned her into much more. Dixie Carter is a legend that will never be forgotten. She brought life and passion into her role as Julia Sugarbaker as in every role she played. She was a Wife, Mother, Actress and most importantly a class act! Read some of my favorite "Julia Sugarbaker" quotes below.
'Suzanne, if sex were fast food, there'd be an arch over your bed!'
[when a flight attendant refuses to tell her the age of the plane they're flying in] 'What exactly are they supposed to do, wait for a wing to fall off and count the rings?'

I have been a fan and admirer for years. Ms. Carter played every part to its fullest - laughter to tears, hilarious to somber/serious. We will all miss seeing her in person, but she will live on forever in reruns and for those of us who have her on DVD. Memories are a gift God gives us to tide us over when a loved one is not at hand. We are all sorry for your loss.

Mr. Holbrook & family, please accept my sincere condolenses at the loss of Ms Carter who was highly admired by me and my family. May you and your family find peace in this passage of scripture..."John 14:1-7" This was my dad's favorite passage in the Bible when he was alive. I still find solace in the passages as Christ gave promise that there is a place of peace, joy, and hope waiting for those who believe. God bless you all as you mourn your loved one.

I am devastated that our beloved Dixie has passed. I have always adored her work, starting with Designing Women. I got to see her live show at The Auditorium in Newark OH a few years ago. My husband and I both were totally entertained and fascinated by her show. I have always heard that she was truly what she showed the world, a very kind and gracious lady. We have lost a true star, and Hal Holbrook has lost his soul mate. My very deep condolences to all of your family.

I adored you on Designing Women. You were the person I think most southern women strive too be. You wil not be forgotten. You have touched the lives of so many. I will be praying for your family. Rest in peace Ms. Carter. You have given so much, I am sure you will receive a multitude of rewards in heaven

Dear Mr. Holbrook,
I have always been a fan of Dixie. When she sang Ava Maria on an epidode of Designing Women I cried. I cried for the beauty and meaning she delivered. She will be missed. Peace and God bless you and your family.
