It sounds like Pico was the professional colleague of Dr Greg Rich, DVM. There's very little that eases the ache of the absence of our pets, but others sharing the many ways our pet lifted their spirits helps. Pico, in his unique position to amuse and entertain those awaiting their time with Dr Rich, has set the stage for this communal comfort for his companion of 24 years. While there are still very personal and singular times to be missed, Dr Rich, you know that Pico gave others a sense of his uniqueness... that you, too, can share. The Sisters of St. Francis/Wisconsin maintain a Book of Beloved Companions to remember in their daily prayers and each Monday at 10pm. I have entered you and Pico in their Book. In due time perhaps you will share what you miss about Pico with us. Recently I have read of Wesley, the Owl, Alex and Tiko, Parrots, and other birds whose 20-50yr relationships with professors will remain indelible. Hopefully your practice is not without its 'Pico personna' for those in the waiting area.
