Don Ho
August 13, 1930 - April 14, 2007
Honolulu, Hawaii

Traveled to Hawaii three times in the last 70s and early 80s. Your shows were entertaining. Were you still there I would more than likely visit again.

You've got the basics right. It is an enngie with an alternator attached. The alternator in your car is a small unit with diodes which convert the voltage from AC to DC to charge the battery. A generator which will power a house is considerably larger and doesn't convert the voltage to DC. Power plants which produce enough to run a town also use generators, huge generators.

Wonderful post, friend! I love these kinds of posts from you. It's so easy to get caghut up in the minutia of life and complain about every single thing, when we really just should step back and take a look at the big picture and how blessed we are. What a great reminder from you today. Love you!

I was only sixteen when I first saw Don Ho. He was a guest on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. I and my late mother use to watch him whenever he was on.
Don Ho was the only one singer that I loved to hear sing. I and a friend had gone to Hawaii seven years ago and just missed him by a day. My heart was broken when I learned of the death of a magnificent singers demise. Don Ho will live within my heart forever. Don's singing for the Angels.

I met Don when he was appearing at Dukes many years ago. My brother, Norman took me to see him. I saw him many times when he travelled to the mainland to appear. He was always kind, funny, and just a joy to be around. A one-of-a-kind entertainer! My brother and I will always remember Don. We had a lot of fun. We'll toast him with a drink and suck it up. Aloha dear Don...

Don Ho represented the best of hawaii: beautiful music, delicious
mai tais and lots of good times spent with friends.
I saw his show countless times when I lived there and we always
ended up at his show. It was the most fun thing to do.
He was so much fun and gave all of us so many great memories.
I think Mr. Ho has already started a band and has the angels doing
the hula.
Aloha

My deepest sympathy for the Ho family. Don was a great friend in the 60's, I was the nurse on duty when one of his family members was giving birth. He called us while he was on stage during her labor and later I called back and told him the baby was born. From that dayforward we became friends. He was Hawaii! May Our Heavenly Father greet you with open arms as you go home. And may He wrap His arms around you, family at your time of sorrow. Ill remember you Don. much Aloha Hana Ho!

To the Don Ho Family,
I send my deepest sympathy and love to all of you, for your loss is the loss of all who loved him. I first saw him in 1970, when I was 20, and at his show, I felt a family atmosphere then and remember it well. Then in 2003, I attended his show on his birthday, just before leaving the Islands for home. His love for children, those in his audience, as well as his grandson, and daughter, made me remember the importance of ohana. I hope I spelled it correctly. He also showed his love for is country, the military, and all those who have served in one capacity or another. I also remember his calm attitude to the children who were disrepectful to others at the show. He was a wonderful man, and will be missed by all have seen him or listened to his music. He made me want to make Hawaii my home, for the thought of love and charity and giving to others is what I too believe in.
I am deeply sorry that he is gone, but one thing for sure, he will never be forgotten. Aloha, Mr. Ho, may God and his angels watch over you and welcome you home.
