"I remember when I saw him in St. Louis in 1999. I was living there then, and where he stayed was two blocks from my apartment."

"I am not a Catholic, but Pope John Paul II was elected to be Pontif 1 year after my oldest child was born, and he was there until his death, so my daughter never "knew" any other man as Pope.
My dear friend went to Rome shrtly after Pope John Paul II died and I asked him to bring me back a commertive plate with the Pope John Paul II 's image, so here was this man the only Jew buying a picture of the recently deceased Pope! In Rome no less!!!! God rest the late Pope, he was a good man."

"This man is one that will be in the history books and the hearts of the people who came to know him. He was snubbed by those who wouldn't put him up for a nobel peace price. He did more than that. He brought down communism along with Ronald Reagan and some others. This man is a saint and I will be forever happy that I was able to be in his presence at least 3 times in my life. His Sainthood will prove to many that he was in the mind and heart of God, daily. His writings are of immence importance and should be read by every human being. God Bless you John Paul II."

"More than any figure of the 20th century, John Paul II did more to bring peace and unity to the Catholic Church and Nations of the world. He deserves Sainthood and it can not come quick enough."

"I had the privilege of being in the presence of John Paul II twice. The first time was on his first trip to the US in Boston 1979. You could tell that you were in the presence of someone special as we all stood in the pouring rain on Boston Common to celebrate Mass with him. The second time was in Rome where we were fortunate to be part of an outdoor Mass in St Peter's Square. On a beautiful 72 degree day the experience was beyound words. I for one miss his leadership and personality as head of the Catholic Church. Rest in peace."

"I was in the hospital doing my nursing clinicals and I paused to watch Pope John on the TV in my patient's room. He was standing on the balcony of his hotel room and he put his hands to his head and motioned that he was tired and wanted to go to sleep. I will never forget that pure, innocent moment of the Pope and his people. This was in Chicago."
