Tributes.com Creates Funeral Service Advisory Board
BOSTON, MA (October 9, 2008) — Tributes.com announced today that they have established a Funeral Service Advisory Board, comprised of 12 of the most forward thinking leaders in the funeral service profession. The Advisory Board stems from the vision of engaging funeral service professionals to serve as knowledgeable advisors to the Tributes management team, as the company sets out to establish itself as the brand on the Internet for everything obituary related.
“We have assembled a first class group of professionals with great expertise in the funeral service profession, and we are extremely honored and excited that they have chosen to be a part of our board. This group believes in our offering, and that it is good for funeral service and the families they serve, and we are grateful for their interest, participation and leadership” said John Heald, a fourth-generation licensed funeral director and VP of Sales&Business Development for Tributes.com.
The Advisory Board consists of funeral home operators, marketing and consulting professionals, association representatives and others in the field. These individuals will work together as a group to be on the forefront of the technology that is becoming an integral part of the funeral service profession.
Tributes.com is bringing to the profession an easy to use online obituary information source and an opportunity for funeral directors to help families integrate today’s technology into the arrangement and obituary process by enabling the creation of rich, online multi-media tributes which truly commemorate the lives of their loved ones and preserve their stories for generations to come.
“Today, families expect more from their funeral director than they have in the past,” noted Tributes.com Advisory Board Member J. Mark Busch. Along with his brother, Busch owns and operates the largest funeral home in the city of Cleveland, Ohio, Busch Funeral and Crematory Services. “Families want us to be a resource that helps them before, during and after the funeral service. Technology is starting to play an important part in helping families preserve memories, communicate service information and even to grieve. My role as a board member will help keep our funeral home current with today’s technology and positively influence change that is good for the families we serve and good for our business.”
“Increasingly, families are faced with the rising costs of placing obituaries in the printed paper. Tributes.com offers a robust, cost-efficient suite of online obituary offerings providing funeral homes with new alternatives to offer their families, especially where cost is a concern,” says Advisory Board Member Jake Johnson of Johnson Consulting Group, Phoenix, AZ. “I look forward to working directly with Tributes to help ensure that they meet the changing needs of both families and funeral homes.”
Working together with Tributes.com provides additional value to the individual funeral home, the funeral service profession as a collective group and, most importantly, to the consumer. Perhaps for the first time in its history, the funeral service profession has an opportunity to collaborate and influence the direction of a new application of technology that could revolutionize an important facet of their business.
