Tributes.com® Launches Mobile Obituary Platform
for Broadcast Media Partners

Station-Branded Obituaries Made Easily Accessible on Smartphones
via Interactive Mobile Interface

BOSTON, MA – July 31, 2012 – Following the Company’s recent launch of their mobile version of Tributes.com, the online resource for local and national obituary news, Tributes today announced the release of a new mobile version of their obituary platform for the media partners that make up the Tributes Obituary Distribution Network. Tributes-powered obituary sections, when accessed on a media partner website via a mobile browser, are now presented in a design highly optimized for smartphones with prominent station branding linking back to the station homepage. Smartphone users are automatically presented with the mobile interface and no changes are required to the media partner website in order to take advantage of this new technology.

Tributes.com has aggressively been establishing partnerships with television and radio stations across the country and today well over 100 stations feature customized obituary sections on their websites powered by Tributes.com, enabling them to provide rich hyper-locale content to their users on a feature-rich technology platform that allows full interactivity.  There are no upfront fees required of stations that join the growing obituary distribution network and they control all advertising and sponsorships which appear in their Tributes-powered obit section and 100% of associated revenue.

"Tributes gives us the ability to serve our broadcast website customers and advertisers with content that’s traditionally been owned by our newspaper competitors. What’s even better is that it’s essentially a turnkey solution. We like that a lot." said Jon Okerstrom, Senior Internet Director for Quincy Interactive. "The addition of mobile-optimized Tributes content to our mobile websites will only accelerate the dramatic growth we’re seeing on our mobile platforms."

"As consumer reliance on the power and availability of smartphones continues to increase, it is becoming critical for digital media properties to ensure that their content is properly formatted and that their most important features and capabilities are presented in a manner that enables users to truly take advantage of them on their mobile devices," said Elaine Haney, CEO / President of Tributes.com. "Our network of broadcast media partners represent an important segment of local and regional distribution that we provide to the thousands of funeral homes that rely on Tributes.com each month to publish obituary news on behalf of their families and it is vital that their obituary content delivers a mobile experience that is consistent with the high quality interfaces that many of our media partners have created for their primary news content."

Tributes.com is the online resource for current local and national obituary news, lasting personal tributes and online community providing support during times of loss and grieving.  Through one centralized national web destination, with over 90 million current and historical death records dating back to the 1930s, Tributes has made obituary and online memorial service information easily accessible so people can come together online and offline to remember and share the treasured stories of the important people in their lives who have passed away.
