Just an awesome person and actor. I was fortunate enough to have met him and he talked to my mother and I as if he'd known us all his life. The acting world has lost a great actor. May God of tender mercy give his family blessings and strength during this time.

Hugh was a wonderful warm human being with a huge acting talent. Sending so much love Mary Moody

More than the quintessential villain, Hugh taught me more about performance in 2 minutes on the set of "STONE" than anyone - maybe with the exception of the legendary Bryon Syron. I met Hugh in '73 as 'Lion' in "A Midsummer's Night Dream" and he later gave sensational gravitas to my first genre movie "The Chain Reaction" - I am shocked and dismayed by a great loss Ian B

I met him once and he was so humble and down to earth. It was a true pleasure talking to him. He was iconic in the Mad Max series, he was the ultimate villain. Please accept my deepest sympathies, he will be greatly missed.

He was an incredible actor and my all time favorite villain. I send my sincere condolences to his family. May God bless you and give you peace and strength during this most difficult time. He will be greatly missed.

I loved your acting presence since 1980 when as a young boy I saw mm1 in the UK. The blue skies, wide-open spaces, the bikes and action role you played majestically.. Where was this country " Australia"?? Over the years, i saw several films, and you always mastered the roles, character, presence. The best on the set. In 2014--34 years later, i move to australia. I probably would had never come if i hadnt seen that film In 1980. 2 years ago, i just couldnt be at the mm1 reunion- riding my bike there wasnt possible from qld- what to say when i meet you?
Alas, i missed the last chance to say hello.
ride on great one...
Remember when you look at the night sky.. I will.
Peace , and condolances to all that knew you. Thanks for the action, the dream, the movies. The coolest bad guy that ever was.

I loved the movie Stone and went on to join the RAAF and ride motorcycles even ro go on later in life and ride with the Veteans MC for a while knowing this was rhe Gravediggers MC in the movie Stone It's true what everyone is saying about him, he was a good decent man who will be grieved for, RIP , may your family find peace with your passing knowing a great Australian was part of their lives. Thank you Sir for your characters and real off screen personality
