Pat was a grasshopper of a bloke! Earns every bit of respect when it comes to being nimble and spry like a spaghetti stick. Rest in paradise you magnificent and tasteful individual. I'd like to give my best to the centrifuge that was Pat Patterson. Blessed be the candles that surround you as well as the curvature of your face. There's an old saying in my hometown that goes: "Today you tickle the stranger's spider, tomorrow you slide in the messy mainland". I want to dedicate that one to Pat and all of those close to him. Amen!

Thank you for so many memories, watching big time wrestling. Seeing you live at the KTVU studios, the Pleasanton fairgrounds and my favorite the Cow Palace. The fued you had with Ray Stevens was great. You always had great promos and threw the best working punch of all time. Your total career in wrestling has you on my personal Mount Rushmore of wrestlers along with Roddy Piper, Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair.

I watched Pat Patterson wrestle when I was knee-high to a grasshopper. Always one of my favorites. A true expert at his craft, and when he meant business, he meant business! Sadden to learn of his death. Takes me back to when wrestling was a family sport, family entertainment. A legend with a beautiful smile. Condolences to his family, friends and all his fans. He provided us with so much when he lived, may he truly rest in peace.

I cannot express the sadness I feel right now, Pat was one of the most important people in WWE and the first openly gay wrestler of his generation, he is an inspiration to many. R.I.P. Godspeed Pat.

As a gay man, I thank you for coming out so publicly. I was severely depressed and struggling. When you came out, I stopped blaming myself and gradually learned to accept myself. I can never thank you enough or express how much it meant to me. God bless you and your family, you've truly made a difference.

I grew up in the 70’s watching you on Big Time Wrestling with my brother and sister. You and Ray Stevens were the best tag team during that era. And probably the most feared. But it didn’t matter who you teamed with, you were my hero and when you got “hurt” I kept yelling at the TV “GO PAT GO!!!! GO PAT GO!!!” Thank you for all the years of great memories from Big Time Wrestling to your final days with WWE. RIP Pat.

As a young boy growing up in San Jose, we used to go watch Pat and Roller Derby at the San Jose Civic Auditorium in the mid to late 60's. What a show for us, up close and personal as the room only held a small amount of fans. Thanks for the excitement for that young boy...Rest in Peace

Pat, Thanks for trusting me. Thank you for letting me take care of you. I did not meet you as a celebrity; I met you as a human being, a man with a great sense of humor who showed kindness to everyone and made me mad when you laughed about my Spanglish accent. You were a wonderful friend and a fantastic singer. Thank you, Pat, for every moment that we shared. Rest in peace.
Gracias Pat. Descansa en Paz

Pat, you and Ray Stevens were my heroes. You were an artist in the ring, an artist on the mic, and I wish I had known you. I will always remember your run in the San Francisco territory. I got to shake your hand in Santa Rosa after your match. No one, but absolutely no one, could work a crowd like you did. Everything you did was so believable. And I truly admire the fact that you could be openly gay in the time and era you did, and in the profession you were in. Bless you, Pat. I will always remember you fondly.

Knowing that there were stars out there who were gay really helped me during a difficult time. I am grateful that he made the tough decision to come out, it made all the difference to me. He touched more lives than he'll ever know. To his family, please accept my heartfelt sympathies. He was a wonderful person who risked everything and stood up for the LGBT community. I'll never forget him.
