Jimmy Orr

This man gave me many memories in my youth. I only met he an his wife once. Nearly 40 years after his retirement at the airport in Baltimore. We were waiting on our luggage and spent about 20 minutes together. These folks were the most congenial and down to earth you will ever find. God bless the family, rest in peace Jimmy, and thanks for the memories.
Warmest Regards,
Tom Tubman

Matthew 6: 9,10 You must pray, then, this way: Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also on earth.

I met Jimmy at his favorite restaurant in Brunswick. My son introduced us and what little time we spent talking there I could tell what a kind man he was. I would always ask about Jimmy when I would talk to my son in Brunswick. That's what kind of impression he had on even a stranger. Wonderful man, RIP Jimmy Orr.

What great memories with Jimmy over the years at Atlanta Country Club, The Harbor Club, plus. Played many rounds of golf together, hung out with "The Mick" a lot and enjoyed meeting many of the old Colts players with Jimmy back in the 90's. You were a great friend and will be missed by many. RIP Jimmy! !
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family through this loss! !

I grew up a Baltimore Colts fan. Johnny U., Bubba Smith and Jimmy Orr were awesome. They don't make them like that any more. Thanks for the memories Jimmy.

Jimmy brought much excitement and pleasure to me when he was with the Baltimore Colts. I started watching them when a fellow Wofford College student, Jerry Richardson, was playing for them, and then Jimmy came over from Pittsburgh. Even though Jerry left, I was hooked by Jimmy, Raymond Berry and Johnny Unitas. Jimmy's family should know that many people remember and appreciate Jimmy! May God's greatest comfort be with you all!!! >

"Coach on the field" smarts, who had crafty moves and terrific hands. Jimmy was also one of the great characters, during an era of many great and tough characters in Pro Football (and especially on those Baltimore Colts). Jimmy's presence made his teams better on the field of play, and more fun on and off said.

Growing up in the 60s, I always wanted to be Jimmy Orr when I played football with my friends and for my college fraternity. He was extraordinarily talented. Unitas to Orr. The Colts. Glorious times.

It’s very sad to lose a childhood hero but even moreso a very good friend. Rest gently, Jimmy. I’ll miss our times together at the GA Sports HOF yearly induction weekend and lunches with you in Brunswick. No more pain on your golf swing up in heaven. I know I’ll see you again someday. Until then....
