Mr Redford I am praying for your family for this pain is the worst you can bear. My son was 55 and lost him last year to liver disease. I have to depend on God to see me through each day. I did not know him personally but I was impressed by and thankful for the documentaries he made. The last one about impact of stress in childhood on our adult lives was right on target. His accomplishments are more than noteworthy; they are life changing for many people. I'm a retired professor and I referred one of my former students, now a parent with a dyslexic child, to his film. It helped both of them immensely. My condolences to his family and his parents, Robert and Lola. The loss of a child, no matter at what age, is unbearably painful, but certainly they can be very proud of the impact their son had on the lives of others and likely was instilled in their son by them.

Sending deepest condolences at this tender time. My memories go back more than 50 years ago— in New York City- With Jamie and Shawna. We made forts, did plays, played make believe, played in Central Park and Trick-orTreated in their building. I felt blessed to have such wonderful friends in a very big city.

I was saddened to see the news of Robert Redford's son. I also lost my son, age 16, on October 16, 1995. Having learned of James' life was uplifting and should be comforting to his family to know his life was well spent contributing to the welfare of others. The mournful pain of losing a son never leaves. I have always admired Mr. Redford and his contribution to the environment. James sounded like a carbon copy of his father. Members of the family were in my prayers tonight and they will be remembered.

I skied with James at Sundance when he was 16 and I was 21. I was a student at BYU at the time. He was a great guy when he was a young man, very humble. He will be missed.

When you see famous personalities you don't often think about much else than their careers. The fact is they have lives just like all of us, with all the highs and lows that familys celebrate and sometimes have to endure. My heart goes out to the whole family, as I know first hand how the cancer battle is fought. My wife lost her 58 year old brother to liver cancer two weeks ago. I hope life gets a little easier day by day for your family as it has for us.
