"Bird" performed in the play "Black Nativity" in Memphis in 2005. My choir, St Augustine Catholic Church Choir also was in the play. We were excited and honored to be in his presence, as he was very professional and fun to work with. I was stoked when I later saw him in so many films. He didn't make us as amateurs feel any less but gave us tips throughout the performance. He was very warm and giving. Prayers to his family, friends, and peers.

I met T Bryd, August, 1971 at Morris Brown College. He expressed his musical talent, a trumpeter with the Spectacular Marching Wolverines and a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity!! Always down to earth and had time for a conversation with you. I am glad I was able to be in his company and talk with him and take candid photo shots 2 years ago a MBC homecoming. Fond memories of T Byrd will forever live in my heart. RIH T Byrd!!
