thankful that I knew you*
(in memory of Chadwick Boseman)
by Ruth Esther Gilmore
this morning I watched hope flutter by
on the wings of a monarch butterfly
and per definition it landed on the window sill
of my wounded bleeding heart
a never-ending blast of warmth
spread itself through the curtains
of my soul
deleting at will
my pain
I had started
to believe I would never lose the pain again
where can I hide to avoid the next silent arrow?
how should I deal with loss? how can
I find happiness without you? I
can only smile and remember our shared past
and be thankful that I knew you

As descendants of African people we all are kin. As children of God we are all relatives. As a Divine Being in these times of great challenges it was a joyful and inspirational life experience to view and be touched by this young humble man. So thank you God and Mother and Father of this ancient Divine Soul. Loved his wisdom and his heavenly smile. Y'all done good. REAL GOOD!!!

Dear Chadwick's family
I am 12 years old and I am sorry for your loss. I have never met Chadwick but I know he was a great person. I love black panther and have watched it millions of times so when I heard he wasn't here it made me sad. I have a bunch of black anther stuff because he was the best actor to play black panther. He made Black panther come to life. Although we cant see him he is still in our hearts. For we will all meet again one day. I will send up prayers for the entire family. Have a great year now and coming forth. God bless you.

It hurts my heart to think of you and know that you are not here. We have never personally met, but I look forward to the day when I meet you in glory! Zaira Grant's message is spot on! I have that very passage of Dr. Myles Munroe's book in the beginning of my journal. It is truly a sign of a life well lived. Rest in Paradise.

My sincerest condolences to the friends and family of Chadwick. Losing a loved one in death can be the most difficult challenge we experience; there is a ‘time to weep , but also be joyful’ as we reflect on the warm memories of our loved ones (Ecclesiastes 3:1,4). Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

In Chadwick's own words, "You would rather find purpose than a job." And that he did! Two weeks before his death, Dr Myles Munroe made the statement, "Rob the grave, don't die old, die empty!" If there was ever a true manifestation of that statement, it would be the life of Chadwick Boseman. He poured it all out, he left it all on the stage! He came, he saw, he conquered. He did what he was born to do! He robbed the grave! He died empty...because he fulfilled his purpose! Rest well brother... until that great getting up morning! We were blessed with your presence, and are better to have shared and borne witness to your years here on Earth

I would like to say that Chadwick was awesome in playing James Brown in Get On Up. My husband is the nephew of James Brown. My husband's Aunt ( His mom's sister ) Velma Warren was married to The Godfather of Soul. It was an inspiration to watch Chadwick play that role of James Brown. Rip. From Raquel and William Carvin in Toccoa Ga.

I thank God for cultivating such a willing soul!
As a Viewer, experiencing his confidence, which was built from practice and studying, his humility and peace, which came from his relationship with God, and his sense of humor and down to earth presence, I am inspired that one can truly walk by faith!
I thank his wife and family for sharing this young man with us!
Peace & Blessings as you reflect on the beautiful memories of Chadwick!

I was so impressed by the actor when I saw him in his betrayal of Jackie Robinson. My awe of his acting abilities increased when I saw clippings of his other movies. His innate unselfish love for others show the evidence of God-fearing parents who trained him well. Surely Jesus must have had Chadwick in mind when he spoke of those who will be with him in Paradise. May the peace of God be with his loved ones!
