Didn't know Sy had passed until today. I started with HC on 34th and Madison in 1988. Place was busy and had to wait sometimes for hours, but worth it. Marina was the best stylist I ever had and always got a "thumbs up" from Sy when I passed his office. Marina always did the 'spike' cut for me. Got to speak with him once or twice in his office. Amy Sperling measured my first unit in 1988. I would leave the building after my appointment and walk the NY streets so proud of my hair. It looked fantastic! Totally undetectable. My sincere condolences to Sy's family. Rest in peace Sy, a great guy!!

My thoughts and prayers are with the Sperling family during this difficult time. I was quite impressed by Sy's charity organization that helped kids who had lost their hair as a result of cancer treatments. May the comfort God provides comfort you helping you to cope with your loss.

Dearest Susan, Shari, Andrew, and Rosalie,
We are saddened by the loss of husband, father, and brother, and we send our heartfelt condolences and compassion to you during this difficult time. We appreciate Sy Sperlings dedication to restoring hair for all people. He was, of course, especially fond of his program Hair Club for Kids because it helped children improve their self-esteem by providing hairpieces to those children who lost hair from chemotherapy treatments. May prayers strengthen you and cherished memories comfort you, and may prayers and Gods loyal love always soothe, comfort, and sustain you forever. 23rd Psalm

Other than my father, Sy was the other man who left the greatest impact on my life. Sy believed in me, gave me my first job after college, respected and trusted me, and loved me, as I loved him. Not many people can say that about their boss. How blessed I was, and how grateful I am that Sy was a part of my life throughout my impressionable 20s. It is because of him that I met my wife and now have two amazing sons. Sy exposed me to the business world, and much of the success I enjoy today relates directly back to what Sy taught me. The news of his passing was simply devastating. My Deepest Condolences go out to his loving family and friends. Sy, Rest in Peace with God. Thank you for everything.

Sincere condolences to the Sperling Family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Sy touched the lives of so many people with his kindness, wit, and wisdom. I had the privilege of working for Sy for many years. He was a true marketing genius and a remarkably kind but strong businessman. He was just as charming off camera as he was on screen. A perfectionist who never left a hair out of place. May his soul rest in sweet peace.

So saddened to learn of Sy passing. He was a visionary like no other and always encouraged people to believe in themselves. He was a friend to my wife and I and owe my early beginning in business to him. A prayer and many thanks to him and his family. He is at peace and in the heavens above

Sperling's tag line is familiar to millions of people - even today, countless commercials and ads later we all know it. He was authentic - it came across - he understood from the inside, out. He showed the same empathy when he started the charity to provide hair for children in treatment. What a wonderful legacy. Rest in peace, Sy, knowing that you made a huge impact in the world. I'm not just a grateful fan, I'm one of millions.
