My deepest condolences to the family and many friends of Boone.

I met Boone as a co-investor in a startup in 2001 (Boone = the big fish). Later, in 2004, I was fortunate to have worked for and with Boone for several years. He was an amazing businessman. He earned my complete respect for his generosity and business acumen.

He will be missed!

I got to know Boone during the production of a documentary about his life and his deeply personal impact on Oklahoma State University.
It remains one of the most delightful experiences of my life.
I loved his frankness, his honesty and that wonderful Texas/Oklahoma drawl.
There was not a pretentious bone in his body.
As a Canadian, I particularly appreciate Boone's fondness for his time in Canada's oil patch, his enduring friendships in Alberta, and his steadfast support for strong trade ties between Canada and the US.
My condolences to Boone's family and may generations of Oklahoma State grads continue to appreciate what he has done for them.

I worked for Boone during the takeover era in the mid 80s. It was a fun time, full of learning for me. He was a great story-teller and a good leader in the sense that he was a risk-taker and competitor who expected the best effort from everyone on his team and gave his best, every day. I think the most important thing I learned from him came from his accomplishments after he was down and out in his late 60's - what a comeback! What perseverance! The last time I saw him he was doing lunges with his personal trainer, at 85 years old! Rest in peace Boone.
