My deepest sympathy to the family who treated their employees as "family"! As a former employee who returned to my home in Charleston, SC I saw them when they hosted a JPC affair on Kiawah Island & their warmth was still there! (Also cruised on the African Queen) May God continue to bless all of you always! Ida Worix

Joan Johnson was a role model for young women growing up in Chicago. She was beautiful and I will always remember when I was a member of S.O.F. (Society of Friends) and we asked if she would entertain a group of Black Seniors living in nursing homes at the Johnson farm. She said YES and they had a great time going on a hay ride, spending the day at the farm and she served them a great lunch. WE will always remember that day with Joan on the farm. My prayers are with George and the Johnson family on the the lost of Joan. God Bless!

AN AMERICAN ICON!!!
To the family of one of Americas true iconic figures, Mrs, Johnson super-served her people both nationally and abroad. Where would we be without the vision, hard work and dedication of her immense contributions, working in tandem with her devoted husband? The products that emerged exemplified black pride and the reach of the company extended well beyond the company itself. The sponsorship of Soul Train was a prime example of the synergies created when cooperative economics forge a bond. Family, be proud! You have a lot to smile about today and forever more!!!

I was delighted to learn of Ms. Johnson's success, but I was sorry to hear of her suffering and death. May the God of all comfort console this family during your time of sorrow knowing that she is now peacefully sleeping awaiting the many blessings to come. (John 3:16)
