Wishing the whole Kittredge family blessings of peace and the knowledge he is at rest now. I met him once at Kringle. The Fall candles were out. He approached a group of older women saying he worked there. He entreated them to help decide which shade of orange they should use for the "new candle". He wore casual clothes, a sweater vest. They had no idea who he was!! He was delighted by them and the ladies by him. He had such a twinkle in his eye. When they were out of earshot I complimented him on blending in. We had a good laugh about it. My impression was that he was a good soul. I looked for him whenever I was there, but alas, no more. Another good man called home. God Bless.

Michael was so generous to his community. He had a huge impact on many organizations in Western Massachusetts including Baystate Health, where I work. The Kittredge Foundation's most recent support was for the Baystate Franklin Medical Center's surgical center which allowed residents from Franklin county receive surgical care close to home. His legacy will be remembered for many years to come. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

We had so many fun times with you during the Porsche drives that you organized to perfection! Stopping for a great lunch as we toured the Berkshires for a final stop of antiquing. We enjoyed spending time at the car barn and listening to the story behind each amazing vehicle. We thank you for all of the great memories.

I recall hearing the story of Michael making the candle for his Mum. It was very touching. When we visited Northfield Mount Hermon School for our sons interviews we had dinner there, enjoyed the cars and candles. When we came up for visits, we always stopped to shop. We lived in Georgia and this was a real treat. Years later when it came time for graduation, family that came was directed to Yankee Candle for an afternoon of shopping. Now living in Maine, Yankee Candle is the fund raiser for the local elementary school.
Our deepest sympathy and sincerest condolences on your loss. Please know how connected we feel to your loss.

Am deeply saddened by the news of his passing. Mike and I were high school friends when I lived in Holyoke and South Hadley back in the mid 60s. I was also the "manager" of the rock band he was in back then, "The Bristol Curries." But what I remember most was hanging out in his basement with his Mom, watching (and sometimes helping? lol) them in the candle making process. Little did I know until I moved to Michigan in the mid 70s that Mike would turn the modest family hobby into what it is today. Requiescat In Pace. You will be missed but not forgotten.
