We recently heard about Marty. We are so sorry. Butch met Marty through a phone conversation over a year ago. I remember Butch saying..."what a character". His engaging personality left an endearing impression on all who knew him whether briefly or through the many years of his life.

Always enjoyed his unique quirky comedic demeanor. A bit brash onscreen but you gotta give him his props for being able to romance the ever-sexy Shirley Jones. I'm reminded of a song from The Limeliters folk group in the 60's called "Marty", which I believe they're singing in heaven now because the lyrics in part go, "...let's all move over for Marty, for Marty is not very big."

I saw the two of you together on that Bert Convy game show Tattletales. I think you and Marty made a very nice couple. I enjoyed him as the doctor on the Addams Family who came to take care of Kitty Kat. I also liked him as The Dangerous Diaper Dan on Bewitched when he recorded Darrin's campaigns for the Wright pen campaign. Funny guy. I was shocked to hear the news. Sending sympathies & prayers for peace and comfort. Met Marty at his home in 1998, then I guested on his radio show, he was a great host Saturday nights in Los Angeles. We had great talks on air about spiritual questions and the entertainment world. We gave mutual support to each other with some similar battles we fought and overcame. Saw him last at Sherman Oaks United Methodist Church screening for a film I made about Roberto Clemente. He is so kind. First thing he did was pull me aside to make sure I was doing okay personally. A funny, brilliant, & kind man who always got folks thinking, reacting, laughing, & discussing. I'm grateful we can still see him on some of the classic TV shows. Rest in peace as you are absent from the body, but present with the Lord. Love, Rev. Richard Rossi & family

Deepest sympathy to you and your family, from a "tv watcher" from "way back". After having so many beloved and talented actors and actresses come into my home over the years - hearing of one passing almost seems like losing a friend. In today's world, a marriage lasting as long as yours is almost unheard of - How blessed you were.. even in the good times and not so good times - isn't that what the marriage vows are all about? My prayer is that all your happiest memories and God's Wing of love and protection, will help you through this time. God bless
