Portland, Oregon
Imagine a girl from Philly in love with a baseketball player from Portland. It wasn't easy but I didn't care. :) I was devestated when I heard the news last week. JK was my favorite NBA player!! My eyes tear up at the thought of him being gone. But my heart rejoices knowing he's housed in it (my heart) forever. To his family, friends and other fans who share my grief know that he is with us each day and remember his warm heart and smile as the sun rises and sets each day. God Bless you Soul, Jerome! Thanks for being so kind to me when I met you :) God Bless us all and let's hope that we have as much love as JK did from his family and friends (Dawn from Philly)

"As early as the sixth and seventh grade you could see that there was something special between Jerome and a basketball, almost always when the bell sounds he would be the last one to leave the court getting in another shot.Hard work and determination proved very rewarding for him. In school he had a kind spirit and smiled often,he would never meet a stranger because he had no problem talking to anyone.Hearing that he carried the same personality throughout life was classic Jerome. It was an honor to have known him. With deepest sympathy to the Kersey family. -

As a high school alumni and basketball teammate I was not surprised Jerome would go on to accomplish such great things in life. Judging from all that I have seen, heard, and read about him, I'm also not surprised at the many positives about the type of person he was to so many! I saw that in him when neither of us knew exactly how our lives would end up beyond high school. Jerome you will always be a true inspiration to all of us who watched you evolve into one of the great ones! I was blessed to have known you brother!

This is heartbreaking. I was lucky to meet him several times as a kid. As an adult, when I recently saw him on TV, that little kid in me started jumping up and down again. It brought me back to the excitement of the game that has been missing for quite some time. Thank you for your energy, loyalty, and love for Portland. May you "Bust-a-bucket " on heaven's court.

From My book "Gifts From My Heart"
Resurrection Promise
Do not cry as your loved ones pass,
God has promised it will not last,
The time is coming with all things new,
And your loved ones brought back to you,
Revelation 21: verses three and four,
States that death and sorrow will be no more,
Remember Jesus said his friend was asleep,
We will be called back to be his sheep,
Yes it hurts to lose someone,
But soon every bad thing will be undone,
Trust in Jehovah with all your heart,
He's been with us from the start,
So as we go on in this old life,
Remember he will rid us of this pain and strife,
Take his hand and see his power,
When he brings his judgment hour,
Those in the memorials tombs will come out,
We will all be happy and able to shout,
Look what God has went and done,
He's brought back Mothers, Fathers, Daughters and Sons.
